VENTURA, California – The Ventura County Fire Department will host the annual Fall Prevention Forum on Friday, Sept. 26, at their headquarters in Thousand Oaks.
The event is free to attend, but participants must pre-register by filling out the registration form at vcfd.org/senior-citizen-safety. For questions, call 805-389-9746. There is limited space available, and sign-ups are first-come, first-served.
The event will run 8 a.m. to noon at the Fire Department Headquarters (2400 Conejo Spectrum St. in Thousand Oaks).
Organized by the Ventura County Elderly Fall Prevention Coalition, the Forum takes place during Fall Prevention Awareness Month. The goal is to help attendees learn to protect themselves from life-altering – and sometimes fatal – falls.
It features educational speakers, balance-enhancing activities and demonstrations, health assessments, complimentary food and vendor exhibits.
