The Elderly Fall Prevention Coalition is a community-based partnership consisting of healthcare professionals, emergency services, older-adult service providers and community advocates with a goal of reducing falls and their devastating consequences on older adults in Ventura County.

VCAAA Fall Prevention Classes
VCAAA is not offering fall prevention classes at the moment. Please check back for future updates.
If you have fallen or are fearful of falling, consider reaching out to us to attend FREE classes where you will learn how to improve mobility and balance. For more information or to register for a class, call 805-477-7300, option 6, or email Fall.Prevention.Program@venturacounty.gov.
Eligibility for Fall Prevention Classes
- Open to Ventura County residents 60 or older
- Open to their spouses (even if under 60)
There are five classes, though not all may be offered at any given time. Please click on the links below for class descriptions and to access flyers for upcoming classes.
Bingocize
Bingocize is designed for individuals who are mildly active and have fallen or have developed a fear of falling. Participants should expect to play bingo, answer trivia questions and participate in seated and standing exercises with the willingness to practice at home. Participants with mild cognitive impairments may be eligible.

A Matter of Balance
A Matter of Balance is designed for individuals who are mildly active and have fallen or have developed a fear of falling. Participants should expect a conversation-based setting while completing beginner friendly seated and standing exercises. Exercises focus on improving balance, strength, flexibility and self-confidence. Participants cannot have cognitive impairments.

Stepping On
Stepping On is designed for individuals who are mild to moderately active and have fallen or have developed a fear of falling. Participants should expect a conversation-based setting while completing standing and seated exercises with gradual use of leg weights both in class and at home. Participants cannot have cognitive impairments or be dependent upon a walker.

Walk With Ease
Walk With Ease is designed for individuals who are mildly active and have fallen or developed a fear of falling. Participants should expect motivational tips on how to exercise with arthritis while working up to their daily walking goal. Participants cannot have cognitive impairments.

Tai Chi: Moving for Better Balance
Tai Chi is designed for individuals who are moderately active and fallen or developed a fear of falling. Participants should expect to participate in slow and controlled seated or standing movements. Exercises focus on improving strength, stamina, balance and body awareness. Participants cannot have cognitive impairments.
