The VCAAA’s Advisory Council is a community-based body of advocates who share a mission to create and sustain programs that impact the lives of older adults, people with disabilities and family caregivers. Members represent the Ventura County Board of Supervisors, local cities, service providers and focused populations.

Beginning in November 2025, meetings are taking place at the Ventura County Office of Education (VCOE) Conference and Educational Services Center (5100 Adolfo Road in Camarillo).

The Council meets six times a year. Much of the work is done in committees, or through participation in outreach, grantee site visits, task force groups, and issues of County concern.
There are subcommittees for:
- Aging & Disability Resource Center (ADRC)
- Housing
- Optimal Aging
- Senior Nutrition & Health
- Transportation
- Workforce
